Cowboy Heaven is a tribute to men in the saddle. After spending time on the open range and cattle drives, I saw a new world through my camera lens... It was a rodeo every second!

My Romance with Mexico taught me a wonderful lesson about my profession. I need to feel the memories, hopes, and passions of an entire people. I have to lose myself in their oldest beliefs, their sacred dances, the laughter of their children, and the wisdom of their elders. I searched the landscapes with my cameras and I experienced the warmth and wonder of their customs. I find the world of Mexico passionate, colorful, and framed by song. The architecture, the beautiful churches, and the grandest public art anywhere is but a few of her charms. Romancing her is truly special.
For the 2010 Mexican Bicentennial celebration in Dallas, I created a body of work consisting of 41 pieces in conjunction with the Mexican consulate, celebrating the history of the country. The work was displayed the following year in Austin.
On a recent trip to Egypt, I am reminded that anything my lens can capture my soul can embrace. I seek out the hopes, memories, and passions of an entire culture. Egypt is mysterious, alluring, and exotic, with endless treasures to explore. I float theNile, watching the shore shimmer in the heat and walk on holy ground at Coptic Church. At St. Catherine's Monastery, I witness the bush where it is said God spoke to Moses. I sail on a wooden felucca to one of the last Nubian villages and ride camels with a tribe of Bedouin gypsies in the vast Sinia Desert. Entering the Tomb of Rameses IV, I am overwhelmed by the fantastic art and heiroglyphics. Egypt awakens a new light in my spirit and I am excited to develop the thousands of photographs. As I see Egypt fade in my airline window, I drift to sleep, hoping my dreams will bring me back for another encounter with the ancient kingdom.
I fell in love with this technique while I was in Italy photographing. It gave me the freedom of painting with the definition of film to make my visions come to life. For me, the Romantic comes from that wonderful moment of grace when love and imagination become one and the world appears as it is truly meant to be. My subjects appear as they see themselves in their fondest dreams. Flowers, trees, light houses, cottages, clouds, the moon and the sea all reveal their spirits in the images I capture. I was delighted when the White House chose my work using this impressionistic technique for Diplomatic gifts under President Clinton and President Bush.
